The Board of Directors, Leadership, and entire Membership of the Project Management Institute (PMI) Ghana, the premier professional body for Project, Program, and Portfolio Management in Ghana and the largest PMI Chartered Chapter in sub-Saharan Africa by membership, extend our heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President-elect, and Her Excellency Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President-elect, on their election victory.

The overwhelming endorsement received reflects the astounding faith the people of Ghana have placed in you and the NDC party. This is a testament to their trust in your Vision and Leadership to steer the affairs of our beloved country for the next four years.

As you prepare to take office on the 7th of January, 2025, we would like to remind you of the significant role that Project Management best practices can play in shaping the future of our nation.

By leveraging key Project Management principles such as Stakeholder Engagement, Risk Management, Continuous Improvement and a prudent learned lessons framework, your administration can drive sustainable development and improve the living standards of all Ghanaians.

1. Stakeholder Engagement: Actively involving all stakeholders, including citizens, businesses, civil society and Professional Bodies, in the decision-making process will ensure that diverse perspectives are considered and that policies are inclusive and effective.

2. Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks will help in the successful implementation of government projects and initiatives, ensuring that potential challenges are addressed proactively.

3. Continuous Improvement: Embracing a culture of continuous improvement will enable your administration to adapt to changing circumstances, learn from past experiences, and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of public services.

4. Lessons Learned: Compiling and utilizing lessons learned from past projects is crucial for a National Project Management Framework. This practice ensures that valuable insights are captured and applied to future projects, leading to better decision-making, avoidance of past mistakes, and the replication of successful strategies.

In alignment with these objectives, our 2025 National Project Management Conference and Project Management Excellence Awards, themed "Innovating for Prosperity: How Project Management will Shape Ghana's Economic Future," promises to complement your administration's resolve to achieve economic prosperity for all through sustainable projects. This event will underscore the pivotal role of project management in driving economic growth and ensuring long-term sustainability.

We are confident that with your leadership and commitment to excellence, Ghana will achieve remarkable progress and prosperity. The Board of Directors, leadership, and the entire membership of the Project Management Institute, Ghana stand ready to collaborate with your government in leveraging project management to achieve your transformative agenda. Together, we can position Ghana as a beacon of progress and innovation on the global stage.

Once again, congratulations on this monumental achievement. We look forward to a tenure of remarkable impact and shared prosperity.
