PNC ‘fires’ national organizer

A Policy Analyst for the People’s National Convection (PNC), Atik Mohammed, has descended heavily on the party’s National Organizer, Emmanuel Wilson over his recent comment that results collated by the party support the Electoral Commission’s verdict that President Mahama won the 2012 elections.

According to him, the PNC national organizer does not owe it a duty to issue statements and speak on behalf of the party, and therefore, urged the public to disregard his statement.

In an interview with Citi FM on Wednesday, he affirmed that the PNC dissociates itself from the comments of the organizer describing it as blatant falsehood.

“The PNC leadership is not in any way aware of this publication. It is his personal publication and what we find very offensive is his attempt to make it look as if it is the entirety of the PNC that has done this and has come out with this,” he intimated.

He, however, indicated that the PNC had not commissioned individuals or any group of persons to collate results of the December 7 polls since the party lacked the capacity to do so.

“PNC could not even field more than 2,000 agents in the over 26,000 polling stations so how was he able to procure data in the remainder of 24,000 polling stations. Nobody seems to be in the know as far as this publication is concerned,” he reiterated.

Atik finally stressed that the PNC had not conceded defeat to President Mahama pointing out that, "we have specific concerns with specific constituencies until we are able to bring a resolution to these concerns; we are not going to concede.”
