PNC urges Muslims to use Ramadan to build society devoid of insults

Accra, Aug. 5, GNA - The People's National Convention (PNC) has ca= lled on Muslims to use the Ramadan to pray for better guidance towards building a better society devoid of insults, bitterness, poverty, disease and hopelessness.

"As we inch towards Election 2012, let's endeavour to pray for pea= ce and the right political decisions thereof. Let us use this Ramadan as a medium to continue to pray for better guidance towards building a better society devoid of insults, bitterness, poverty, disease and hopelessness,= " the party said in a statement issued on Thursday in Accra to wish Muslims a successful Ramadan. The statement signed by Mr Bernard Mornah, General Secretary of PNC said: 93It is my fervent hope that our efforts through the sacrifices we m= ake during this month will be abundantly rewarded and our prayers answered favourably." "We in the PNC wish all our Muslim brothers and sisters a very bliss= ful and most fulfilling Ramadan."

The holy month of Ramadan, a rare month in the Islamic calendar is on= e of sacrifice, reflection and soul searching, resolution and most importantl= y intensified prayer to better their lot and that of mankind in general. The statement said: 93As we engage in personal reflections and supplications, it is equally essential to engage in reflections that are pertinent to our communities, societies, constituencies, regions and our beloved country, Ghana."
