PPP will create a perfect society – Nii-Allotey

National Chairman of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Nii-Allotey Brew-Hammond, says the party will ensure a just and a disciplined society when given the nod to rule this country, come November 7 this year.

According to him, the attitude of leaders in this country had defied the motto of which “our country is hinged on” which is “Freedom and Justice.”

He noted that the country cannot have the peace if there is no justice.

“We want Ghanaians to just give us four (4) years to see what we call a disciplined and a just society which we have lacked as a country since the inception of the Fourth Republic,” the PPP national chairman stated.

He, accordingly, challenged Ghanaians to judge the PPP after its four years in office, adding that if they do not see any difference in their lives, they should not renew their mandate.

The PPP national chairman was speaking in an interview with Today on Wednesday June 9, 2016 in Accra on his party’s Ten-Point Agenda.

The interview centred specifically on the creation of a just and disciplined society which is number one on the agenda.

He bemoaned the level of impunity and indiscipline in the country.

That, he stressed, was as a result of the lack of good leadership.

In his estimation a just society is where people get good drinking water, constant power to work, a clean environment, good roads which are not only in the cities but in the hinterlands as well, adequate educational facilities and above all, equal opportunities for everyone.

However, he said the country was lagging behind when it comes to the above-mentioned social amenities, a situation he described, as “unfortunate and unfair.”

He thus urged Ghanaians to strive for justice so that they can have what was due them.

For instance, Mr. Brew-Hammond could also not understand why in the 21st century, majority of Ghanaians still have to compete with goats and cows for potable water, simply because “all our water bodies are polluted through the activities of illegal mining.”

While admitting that his observations may be misconstrued to be political talk, Mr. Brew-Hammond stated that his party’s flag-bearer has an impeccable track record in both private and public live to deliver on the party’s Ten-Point agenda.

The national chairman of the PPP further claimed that Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom who will lead the party in the November presidential polls has proven beyond all reasonable doubt that he has what it takes to change the economic fortunes of this country.

“If you compare Dr. Nduom with President John Dramani Mahama and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo whether in politics or private life, Dr. Nduom stands tall with abundance of physical evidence for everybody to see,” he said.

To this end, he called on the electorate to reject both the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the November polls.

That, Mr. Brew-Hammond said, was the only solution to the numerous socio-economic problems facing this country.

The woes of this country would further deepen, according to him, if Ghanaians make the mistake of either retaining the NDC or bring back the NPP.
