PRESIDENT COMMENDS NORDIC COUNTRIES

The President Flt-Lt Jerry-John Rawlings yesterday received in audience two foreign dignitaries at the castle, Osu in Accra.

They were the Danish Deputy Minister for development and Corporation, Mr Poul Nielson and His Eminence Cardinal Jozef Tomko, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples at the Holy See.

The President expressed his appreciation to the Danish Government's concern for the poor nations of the world and commende it for selecting some of the most deprived countries in the world for their assistance programmes.

Mr. Nielson also commended Ghanaians working with Danish organisation for their hard work and diligence. He also spoke about Ghana's efforts in bringing peace to Liberia.
