Accra, March 11, GNA - The Private Newspaper Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has congratulated the newly-elected President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Mr. Ransford Tetteh and his executives for winning the recently conducted polls. A statement on Saturday signed by Mrs Gina Blay, President of PRINPAG expressed the hope that the new executives would continue with the good work of their predecessors in the area of capacity building and start the second phase of the construction of the International Press Centre.
It said it believed that the new GJA executive would continue the good works such as "holding all media personnel accountable to the good people of Ghana and above all, upholding and defending constitutional values and democratic principles". "We hope the losing contestants will continue to show commitment to the GJA and to the media profession, in general, in the interest of mother Ghana", the statement added.
"We also hope that the Ransford Tetteh -led executive will continue to collaborate with PRINPAG in all fields of media endeavour, like their predecessors, to champion the aspirations of Ghana, and all mankind", the statement noted. PRINPAG also saluted all journalists who showed enthusiasm and commitment on the Election Day to elect leaders of their choice, to lead the Association for the next three years.
