In a bid to ensure that government pays the 3 percent of the Metropolitan, Municipal District Assembly Common Fund (MMDACF) to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Ghana Federation of Disability Organisation (GFD) has served notice it will soon hit the streets to demand what is due them if not addressed.

According to President of GFD, Tabi Amponsah Alfred, the non-payment of the funds has affected their activities and various significant roles been played in the empowerment of Persons with Disability in Ghana.

Persons with Disability in Ghana according to statistics forms 10 percent of the nation's entire population; a reason they need not be ignored.

Meanwhile the 3 percent which is supposed to be allocated to the federation of Disability has been in arrears from last quota of 2016 and three quotas of 2017.

"...We may not be able to calm the nerves of our members much longer because we have been patient enough". Mr. Tabi Amponsah indicated in a statement.

He further indicated "...Perhaps a demonstration may be the wake up call to the local government in performance of its duties".

The Federation has therefore called on the Local Government and all stake holders involved in allocation of their funds to consider their submission and act accordingly in response to the provision of all the necessary funds owed them.
