Asante Kotoko Coach, Paa Kwesi Fabin says the performance of his team against arch rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday is as a result of a collective team effort.
The Porcupine Warriors defeated Hearts of Oak 2-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the first leg of the double header friendlies.
Goals from Burkinabe forward Yacouba Sogne settled the scores in Kumasi, and this has led to fans saying the team hinges on one player.
Yacouba Sogne has been the club's brightest spark in the last few games, scoring most of the goals in the Premier League as well as the friendly games.
However, coach Paa Kwesi Fabin has downplayed such comments indicating the performance of the team is based on team effort.
“Yes Yacouba scored two goals and I congratulate him for that but he scored because others helped him. The other players also did their part for this success and for me it is the whole team that played well today,” Fabin said after the game.
Asante Kotoko will play Hearts in the second leg on Sunday in Kumasi.
