Parliament has chided the Administrator of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) over issues of financial indiscipline.

A report of the Public Account Committee on the operations of the Fund reveals that the administrator paid money to certain individuals and firms with actual proof of no work done.

Speaking on the floor of parliament, Vice Chairman of the Committee and Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta-Akyea said the administrator of the DACF must be called to order for indiscipline in the disbursement of monies to the Assemblies.

“Immediately the monies are lodged with the administrator, and the administrator without reference to any certificate or provision of the services should give the monies to the providers, we’ll have a real situation of paying monies to service providers who have not even rendered the services in the first place.

“So advance payment of monies allocated to the District Assemblies without any evidence of work actually done, I beg to submit is financial indiscipline on the part of the administrator,” the Abuakwa South legislator said.
