A section of the Labone branch of the popular restaurant, Honeysuckle, has been engulfed in flames.
Despite efforts to manage the situation, social media posts show the building filled with thick smoke and fire as workers and patrons evacuated the premises.
The fire service responded quickly, with three fire trucks arriving at the scene.
Per reports, the fire started in the kitchen after the main electricity lines tripped.
Despite the situation, the fire service received praise for their timely intervention, unlike in other incidents.
Also, officials from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) were reported to be on-site, disconnecting power to prevent potential reignition and ensure the safety of responders.
One of the fire service officials, Assistant Division Officer Alex King Nartey, provided an update on the incident via a post on the Fire Service’s official Facebook page.
He praised the coordinated effort between the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and ECG in securing the premises.
Honeysuckle is a popular restaurant in Ghana with multiple branches across the country.
It has several locations in Accra, with the East Legon, Labone, and Osu branches being favorites among patrons.
