Gomoa Mprumem (Central Region), 28 Jan. '99 - The Gomoa East constituency chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr James Yaw Frimpong has called on the members of the Reform Movement to reconsider their decision to break away from NDC to form their own party. Speaking to newsmen at Gomoa Mprumem, Mr Frimpong said whatever reform the group want to be effected in the party cannot be done overnight. "It must be done gradually in order not to throw the party's programmes into disarray". He said the NDC, as the largest political party in the country at the moment is bound to have internal problems adding that finding solutions to such problems should not make us destroy the party we have toiled to build. Mr Frimpong appealed to the national executives of the party and the leadership of the movement to re-open dialogue between them to enable them iron out their differences peacefully. On the high cost of living, the constituency chairman said the government has put in place programmes such as Village Infrastructure Project (VIP), Poverty Alleviation, and Youth in Agriculture to help improve living conditions.
