Nkoranza (B/A), April 8, GNA - Mr. Stephen Forkuo Kudom, Nkoranza District Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Council of Elders has urged the leaders of the party in the constituencies and the districts never to interfere in the appointment of the District and Municipal Chief Executives but instead allow the President and his Cabinet Ministers to decide on the appointment in order that there would be peace and understanding at all places.

Mr. Kudom told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nkoranza on Thursday that it has come to their notice that some youth and NPP Executives have started commenting on the prospective candidates earmarked for the positions of District and Municipal Chief Executives and to discredit others to the advantage of those leaders' favourites.

He stressed that the appointing committee who advises the President before such appointments are made are very experienced and capable of choosing people who fit for the positions and that they should allow the leadership of the state to select among their own people those who can take up the challenge as chief executives.

Mr. Kudom appreciated the decision taken by the President to appoint persons for such areas before the end of the month and said when that was done, activities within the assemblies would be active as the lack of such personalities have made the assemblies somehow dormant. He called on the assembly members in Nkoranza to approve of the candidate selected by the President as the chief executive for the district to build up a high confidence for themselves and the President would appreciate their sense of nationality as well. 08 April 05
