Yeji (B/A) April 27, GNA- Mr. Dan Botwe, NPP General Secretary, on Monday ended a four-day working tour of Brong Ahafo with a call on local party executives to work towards the party's victory in the December elections.

He said the Party had plans to train about 1000 polling station leaders and advised local constituency executives to accommodate the utterances of their political opponents and concentrate on marketing themselves to be able to win others to support the party.

The tour was aimed at breaking the NDC's dominance over some constituencies in the region.

Despite the area's long allegiance to the NDC in general elections, they continued to lack a number of basic amenities until recently that the NPP came to power, Mr Botwe said.

He emphasised that since the NPP Government under the leadership of President Kufour "does not believe in victimisation, it has since assumption of power made sure that no area in the region is left out in the distribution of the national cake".

The tour took the General Secretary, accompanied by some regional executives, to Kintampo North and South, Nkoranza North and South, Atebubu North and South, Sene, Dormaa West and East constituencies.

Mr Botwe said: We are really not interested in giving out materials like cutlasses, soaps, Party T-Shirts or money to entice individuals to give us their votes.

The General Secretary said in addition, the practice also brought about lack of good school buildings, tables and chairs in schools, stressing that the NPP's political strategy was a complete departure from that sort of administration "since we believe in nation-building and not to seek individual interests".

Mr Botwe cited the rehabilitation of the Atebubu-Sene main road, construction of a number of boreholes in the districts, provision of school infrastructure with funds from the HIPC Initiative and many more projects scattered all over Brong-Ahafo and other parts of the country by the NPP Government.

Some of the constituencies complained about lack of logistics including bicycles, motorbikes and four-wheel vehicles and the General Secretary promised to take the requests to the appropriate quarters to be addressed. 27 April 04
