Health workers have invaded all the 23 districts’ boundaries in the Central Region to screen people entering and exiting those areas for the novel coronavirus disease(COVID -19).

The screening exercise commenced immediately after the government announced a lockdown in Greater Accra including Awutu Senya East (Kasoa) which is in the Central Region and Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The announcement has resulted in several people moving from some of the affected areas into the non-affected areas.

Kasapa FM News Yaw Boagyan who monitored the exercise reported that health officials wearing personal protective equipment backed by Police officers stop vehicles plying the area to enable them check the temperature of every single passenger to ensure that nobody with coronavirus transports the disease into the area.

He reported that three suspected cases of coronavirus were recorded on the Baifikrom to Ajumako road after some passengers showing symptoms of the disease were screened.
