PassionAir, a domestic airline, on Saturday, distributed 1000 packs of food, drinks and water to needy and vulnerable persons on the streets of Accra.

The move was part of the company’s activities to celebrate Easter with the poor, needy and vulnerable in society.

The exercise, dubbed: “Pre-Easter Festival,” fed persons including beggars, petty traders, the mentally derailed, street children and those with disability.

Needy persons on the streets of Airport, Elwak Sports Stadium, Kanda Highway, Ridge, Accra Central, Osu Cemetery and Circle benefitted.

Mr Samuel A. Razak Tachie, the Sales and Marketing Manager of PassionAir, said Easter was a season of giving, therefore, the Airline decided to give back to society as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.

He said the move was the first of its kind by the company, but gave the assurance that it was going to be an annual exercise and would be ‘bigger and better.’

“Even though PassionAir started operating just nine months ago, it is focused on putting smiles on the faces of people with excellent customer service,” he said.

“It gives us joy to have people enjoy a warm meal. We are not only in the system to fly people from one place to another but also want to put smiles on people’s faces and make them feel part of the Season.”

“Safety is paramount but excellent customer service is our hallmark,” Mr Tachie said, and urged the public to experience their service, which flies customers to and from Accra to Kumasi, Tamale, and Takoradi.

He called on benevolent organisations and rehabilitation centres to help save people on the streets by giving them the necessary psychological, social, financial and educational support.

“When we got to the Kanda Highway, we saw strong men coming from under the big gutter to take food and they were very happy. Unfortunately, that is not the place they are supposed to be found,” he said.

Among the products the company offers are “It Takes Two,” a product that allows customers to purchase a ticket and get 25 per cent discount on his or her next flight and “Bringing People Together,” where four people purchase a ticket together and receive 10 per cent discount.

“We also have ‘Connecting People,’ where we give our international passengers 10 per cent discount on their domestic travels and 10 kilos excess baggage allowance.”

The Airline, Mr Tachie said, flies pets to their destinations in its “PassionAir loves Pets” service.
