Unidentified armed men last Friday attacked the head pastor of King Jesus Evangelist Ministry at Madina in Accra, for praying for the success of the elections.

Prophet Emmanuel Kwaku Apreku told the GNA that the men attacked and beat him up while he was returning home from church at about 11.30p.m. "They stopped my car and threatened to kill me because, according to them, I had prayed that whoever tried to rig the election would face the wrath of God.

"They pounced on me, dragged me out and asked me to choose by which means I should die - by cutlass, gun or stone", he said. "They ordered me to say my last prayers while they stripped me naked".

Prophet Apreku said while they were at it, one of them screamed from a bite of an insect.

"He shouted and jumped backwards. This distracted their concentration, which gave me the chance to break away. "I escaped into a nearby bush and as they chased me across the street, the lights of two on-coming vehicles forced them to hide".

The Pastor said the men later smashed the windscreen of his unregistered Tico Car and dented its roof. They took away his Holy Bible, wristwatch, shirt and 500,000 cedis. The Legon Police said Prophet Apreku has reported the incident and they are investigating.
