Pastor in Court over sexual assault

A Pastor who is accused of indecently assaulting a 12-year old girl at Gbawe, has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court.

Blessing Owusu Ansah is alleged to have used his penis to “brush” the victim’s vagina.

Ansah, who is charged with indecent assault, has pleaded not guilty.

The court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin- Doku admitted him to bail.

As part of his bail condition, Ansah is to pay GH? 2,000 as security deposit to secure his attendance to court.

Prosecuting Detective Inspector Judith B. Asante told the court that the complainant is a driver and father of the victim. The victim and the accused persons resides at Gbawe.

On April 26, this year at about 4:00pm the accused person met the victim and invited her to come and visit him at about 7:00pm the same day.

The victim obliged and the accused person offered him One-cedi to go and buy bread.

Prosecution said when the victim returned with the bread, accused person allegedly fondled her after using his penis to “brush” the victim’s vagina and warned her not tell anyone else he would kill her.

Prosecution said at about 1000pm, the victim mother who went to look for the victim found her (the victim) in accused person‘s room.

The victim then informed her mother about the ordeal. The victim's mother subsequently went to the Police station to report the matter.

The police then issued her with a medical form to send the victim to the hospital for examination.
