The General Overseer of Faith Alive Chapel International in Western Region, Rev. Bob Asare has asked the Christian community to wage a relentless crusade against the Coronavirus pandemic.
He reminded Christians to intensify their prayers and give material support to complement government's resolve to combat the pandemic.
The Rev. Bob Asare made this statement after making a donation of assorted Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) to the Essikado Hospital in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region.
The items were; hand sanitizers, nose masks, sachet water, liquid soap, Veronica buckets, yazz tissues, surgical gloves, detergents, parazone, jumbo-tissues, medium-size buckets, medical examination gloves, among others.
Explaining the rationale behind the donation Rev. Bob Asare said it was incumbent upon Christendom to lead the crusade as the world fight against a deadly pandemic.
He observed that health care workers face a crucial moment in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak which requires the collective effort of all institutions, adding that the Christian community was no exception.
He, therefore, appealed to other individuals to lend their support by donating generously to contain the spread of the virus.
The Deputy Director of Nursing Services at the Essikado Hospital, Madam Matilda Musah who received the PPEs on behalf of the hospital, thanked the Church for the benevolent gesture.
She revealed that the hospital was handicapped in terms of PPEs and lauded the timely intervention of the church.
She appealed to other benevolent organizations to join the crusade to donate their widow's might to the hospital.
Madam Musah said so far the hospital had received two suspected cases who tested negative.
So far Ghana has recorded 408 confirmed cases with 8 deaths of Coronavirus.
