Fiapre (B/A), Nov. 19, GNA - Reverend Sampson Brempong Adu Anane, Presiding Elder of Afrancho/Sunyani District branch of AME Zion Church, has stressed that pastoral ministry is a privilege and pastors therefore needed to live up to their responsibilities as men and women of God. He said ministerial calling is a service to God and mankind and religious leaders must hold on to their integrity as ministers of God and to lead their congregations to show love to one another. Rev. Anane was preaching at the induction service in honour of Reverend Mrs Georgina Sam, Brong Ahafo Regional Manager of AME Educational Unit at Fiapre, near Sunyani. He expressed regret that some men of God, Church elders "are today involved in activities that run parallel to their calling. He cautioned such people, saying "If you have the motive of worldly enticement to become priests or pastors, then you have failed". The Presiding Elder advised pastors to lead humble, righteous and exemplary lives for their congregations to follow and advised Rev. Mrs Sam to be humble and to be the servant of her congregation. He congratulated the new priest for her devotion to the service of God and prayed to God to guide her to successfully perform her duties. Rev. Sam thanked God for the honour in using her as a vessel to spread His word and appealed to the people to support her to further build the Church and win more converts for the Lord. 19 Nov. 10
