Pastors cautioned not to indulge in politics

Accra, June 23, GNA - Pastors have been cautioned against indulging in politics to enable them to promote the sanctity of Christendom. "This practice has killed many churches and must not be allowed to continue," the Reverend Dr Johnny Johnson, the International President of the Pan African Missionary Association (PAMA), said in Accra when he ordained 11 pastors to steer the affairs of PAMA in Ghana. He entreated pastors to follow the principles of the Bible in their endeavours.

Rev. Johnson said the failure of some pastors to study the Bible made them remain "dry" in the Word and advised them not to be overwhelmed by the challenges.

He also cautioned against performance of miracles in the church saying the people needed solutions to their problems and not miracles. The Reverend Papa Adu, the National Coordinator of PAMA, said the church believed in fighting poverty and ensuring that equal rights existed for all.

The ordination was also used to commission the Accra Chapter and inaugurate an 11-member executive to steer its affairs.
