Begoro, Dec. 7, GNA - The Eastern Regional Minster, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, has urged pastors to stop preaching prosperity messages because it was a contributory factor to why the youth are now craving for riches.

He said instead, pastors should concentrate on teaching the word of God for people to change their lifestyles.

Addressing the Begoro Presbyterian Church during an annual harvest, Mr Ofosu-Ampofo said it was the responsibility of the church to teach people to understand that riches were blessings from God.

The Regional Minister advised the youth that it was only hard work and diligence that gave lasting prosperity and peace to the society. He said HIV infection was high in the rural areas especially in the Fanteakwa District and appealed to Churches to educate people on the menace. The Rev. Charles Adjabeng-Affum, Begoro District pastor in a sermon said the love for money was not Christianity but the beginning of destruction and shattered life. He entreated the Church to refrain from sinful acts and live lives worthy of emulation for society to follow. The church later raised funds in support of purchasing a vehicle for outreach programmes and evangelism.
