Paul Afoko’s accuser confesses to fabricating drug related charges

The Irish novelist, C.S. Lewis once said that, “To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you,” and that was exactly what Paul Afoko did when the man believed to be behind the worse mudslinging of his political career called to apologize to him.

Michael Twum Boafo, a known activist of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), categorically stated on his facebook wall that Paul Afoko was an ex-convict because he was jailed on drug related charges. He also revealed that he is an acquaintance of Mr. Afoko, who he once lived with, in the United Kingdom for 21 years.

But in a 21 minute, 44 seconds audio tape, which was first aired on NEAT 100.9 FM, Michael Twum Boafo is heard begging for forgiveness from Mr. Afoko for his accusatory comments on facebook. He admitted never having met Mr. Afoko before and nor lived in the UK with him, as he earlier claimed in the post.

Perhaps as a sign of remorse, Twum Boafo vowed to personally call on Mr. Afoko, who is aspiring for the position of National Chairman of the NPP and render an unqualified apology to him.

This comes on the back of investigations into allegations made in a petition against Paul Afoko’s candidature for allegedly serving time in a UK jail.

Interestingly, when reached for his comments, a very magnanimous Paul Afoko, instead of getting worked up at the baseless mudslinging, expressed the wish that the energies of NPP youth be channeled towards working for the progress of the party.

“…I promise that when I become the Chairman of this great party, I would make sure anyone who wins the flagbearer position will be President. And no one would direct his energy at any party member,” he insisted.
