The Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana has given the government up to 31 October 2018 to pay all salary arrears owed its members or face industrial action.
According to the group, they will strike if government still owes a member by the deadline.
The coalition issued the communiqué at the 2nd National Executive Council meeting in Tamale.
They also called on the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service to exempt CCT Ghana from the Ghana Education Service and SIC Life Group Insurance Policy.
“Government should ensure that the issue of salary arrears owed to the over 42,000 members is cleared latest 31 October as agreed,” the communiqué said, adding that: “CCT Ghana would be left with no choice than to embark on industrial action if this is not adhered to. This, we will do even if one affected person is not paid before the end of the October 31 deadline.”
