The Adontehene of Peki Traditional area Togbe Ayim Mordey VI, has disassociated the Traditional Council from the ‘misconduct’ of some chiefs in the area who declared support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer Nana Addo during his recent tour of the Volta region.

The chief of Peki Dzogbati, Togbe Agamela VI who spoke on behalf of his colleagues chiefs, emphasized that not all people in the Volta Region are sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) adding Peki traditional area has always been behind the NPP.

“We are solidly behind Nana Akufo-Addo, when Peki says it is behind you nothing can convince them to withdraw but if you disappoint us, we will disappoint you too,” he said.

“Nana Addo respects us and we respect him too and have accepted him wholeheartedly. We in South Dayi have a lot of challenges.

“The NDC has tried to solve some but not all. We are optimistic Nana Akufo-Addo will do it for us when he wins the elections,” he said.

“We support Nana and know he can help us that is why we want to lay our problems before him. Road network on the Peki Training College is very bad and we will be happy if Nana and the NPP will consider constructing it for us. The Peki Secondary School also lacks infrastructure,” he pleaded.

However addressing the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah and his entourage during his 4-day tour of the Volta Region which he begun Wednesday, Togbe Ayim Mordey VI, stated that the Traditional Council has instituted disciplinary actions against those individuals and they will be sanctioned accordingly.

“Infact I want to take this opportunity to let people understand that, that was never done, the individual involved in this occasion is going to be called and sanctioned for the miscduct, so I want t make you understand that there was no such endorsement by Peki Chiefs.”

The Chief of Staff is accompanied by NDC party stalwarts including Professor, Kwamena Ahwoi, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Dzifa Attivor, as well government and party functionaries in the Volta region.
