The Co-chair of the Ghana Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative, Dr. Steve Manteaw, believes that Ghana will end up with a solid team thanks to the appointments made by President John Dramani Mahama.

He highlights the experience of the first three individuals appointed by the President to lead the Energy, Finance, and Justice Ministries as a clear indication of the President’s readiness for the tasks ahead.

In a post shared on social media, Dr. Steve Manteaw outlined five reasons why he believes Ghana is likely to end up with a solid team, stating:

My Observations on Mahama’s First Set of Appointments:

The appointments were quick, announced on the President’s second day in office.

All three appointees are not new to their respective ministries, having previously served as deputy ministers. It is fair to say they have been mentored and groomed for their new roles.

All three possess relevant qualifications and experience.

They are youthful, in their 40s and 50s.

I have interacted with all three and can personally attest to their competence.

At this rate, we are likely to end up with a proper SOLID TEAM by the time this process is complete.

President John Dramani Mahama has begun his first set of appointments to key sectors of the economy, starting with the Finance, Justice, and Energy Ministries.
