The Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST) has announced increases in petroleum products saying they are tied to hikes in world market prices.
A statement in signed by Dr. Kwabena Donkor, Acting General Manager of BOST, said the new prices would take effect from today Monday, September 6. Ex-pump premium petrol will now sell at 970 cedis a liter, up from 870 cedis. Kerosene goes up from 600 cedis to 670 cedis per liter, gas oil will now sell at 910 cedis instead of 810 cedis a liter while LP gas will sell at 1,080 cedis a kilo instead of 970 cedis.
"These prices reflect the trends in 'import parity' as monitored by the National Petroleum Tender Board for the period July 21 to August 20, 1999. "The increase in price is solely due to the increase in world market prices. There has been no change in taxes, levies and margins of the Oil marketing companies."
The statement said wholesale prices of petroleum products would be 857.14 cedis per liter for premium, 557.14 cedis for kerosene, 664.59 cedis for gas oil and 805 cedis per kilo for LP gas.
