Dormaa Ahenkro, June 15, GNA - Members of the Physically Challenged Ladies Association have appealed to President John Agyekum Kufuor to nominate Mr Atta Amponsah Frimpong, a tutor at Dormaa Secondary School and a former Dormaa West NPP constituency Chairman, as Dormaa District Chief Executive.
A spokesperson, who pleaded anonymity, said it was high time disabled persons, who had "excelled in their occupation are given due recognition and opportunity by appointing them to high profile offices such as ministers of state and DCEs for their peers to emulate them". The association said that Mr Frimpong had been their long time role model who had persistently advised them not to give up in life because of their physical disability but to strive hard to hit greater heights. They said Mr Amponsah was the brain behind the formation and sustenance of the association that had won government recognition culminating in their efficient utilization of a loan they accessed from the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs.
They stated that given the chance, Mr Amponsah would prove that the physically challenged had a lot to offer to spur on their peers to give off their maximum quota to national development.
