Physically challenged persons asked to register with Federation

Mr Aboyo Owusu Godwin, Presiding Member of the Biakoye District Assembly, has appealed to the physically challenged in the district to register with the Ghana Federation of the Disabled and take advantage of its programmes to improve their lives.

Mr Aboyo gave the advice when the Ghana Federation of the Disabled presented some items to 145 physically challenged persons in the district on Wednesday.

The items were five wheel chairs, three sewing machines, crutches, white canes and a cash of Gh¢400.00.

Mr Lordson Setsoafia Tagbodza, Secretary of the Federation told reporters later that, a total of GH¢55,000 were involved in the first phase of the presentation being monies accumulated from the District Assembly’s Disabled Fund.

He said the branch which had been dormant in the district for sometime had now been revived with 200 registered members.**
