Flagbearer of the Liberal Party of Ghana, Kofi Akplaloo, has attributed his defeat in the 2020 general elections to his position on the ballot paper and not starting his campaign on time.

Speaking on Election Desk on GhanaWeb TV, he emphasised that starting his campaign late coupled with the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I didn't do well in the last elections because I didn't campaign on time. I waited till the election year, and when I started, there was COVID.There was lockdown, and I couldn't go out. So, when I started, I didn't have time.

"I was number 8 on the ballot paper. Number 8 on the ballot is not a good thing.

"You realise that the length of the ballot sheet was longer than the table where you have to place the paper to do the casting. It was very difficult to roll it up on the table. So, looking for you down there is not easy. It is ideal to be number one", he stated.

Kofi Akpaloo also expressed optimism about winning the pending elections, stating that placing fifth on the ballot paper is a positive sign.

He described the number five as a lucky and spiritual number.

"Number five is a lucky number, and it is also a magic number. My logo, the star, has five edges. So, this number 5 is a spiritual number. We will break the duopoly", he stated.

He pointed out that he has been ordained by God to break the political duopoly in the country.

"God spoke to me in my dream on March 10, 2010, and that is why I started this journey, and God has been good to me. This elections, I am winning. What I saw in my dreams has come to pass.

"Ghanaians are looking for somebody to rescue them. We are everywhere in this country.Everywhere in Ghana, you will find us. We are on course. NDC does not have a stronghold in the Volta Region anymore. I will beat NDC in the Volta Region because I am the only voltarian contesting the election," he stated.
