The New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for the Tamale North constituency for election 2012 Mr. Akilu Sayibu has describe as grossly and excessively misplaced attempts by the government to commit scarce national resources for jet fighters for the state at a time the hardships in the country had reached alarming proportions.

In a statement issued to the media in Accra, the parliamentary aspirant said: “more irritating is the disclosure that, 17million US dollars would be used to build a hangar for the Jets while the Savanna Accelerated Development Fund (SADA) which aim to reduce the excruciating poverty in the three Northern regions has so far received only 13Million US dollars from the same NDC government.

According to the parliamentary aspirant, he is not against government buying Jets for the Armed Forces of Ghana but stated that, “it goes against the principles of natural justice whiles the people can not find good drinking water to drink, can not afford quality health care and can not also do effective farming and trading among other problems for government to misdirect resources of the state the way it is doing now”

Mr. Akilu Sayibu also castigated MPs from the three Northern regions for voting to approve money for Jet fighters and hangar but are mute about the clear lack of commitment that the government of the NDC is putting into the full take off of the SADA fund which will be of very direct benefit to the very people they are representing in parliament.

Mr. Akilu Sayibu explained that, when voted into parliament next year he will be sincere and true servant of his people and will continue to advocate very prudently and effectively for them in all ways to improve their lots.
