Plastics cannot be banned thoroughly - Sanitation Minister

Thousands of Ghanaians have backed calls to ban plastic waste in the country.

The canker of plastic waste has become a tough nut to crack as it keeps increasing in the country.

Kenya, Tanzania and other African countries have led the way in banning plastics in their country and many were hopeful that very soon it will get to the turn of Ghana.

However, this hope seems to have been dashed as the Minister of Sanitation, Cecilia Abena Dapaah says it cannot happen.

Having a one-on-one interaction with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Thursday, the Minister said "plastics cannot be banned thoroughly."
