Plot To Nail Informer Editor On Rape Fails

Tue, 6 Dec 2011 Source: Oduman Residents Association

The political kitchen is obviously getting too hot for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and their drug-tainted flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, but instead of getting out of the heat by accepting the truth, their campaign dogs are still lagging in there and making an asshole of themselves by unwisely throwing mud at innocent people.

Latest to be smeared by the NPP vile campaigners is Mr. Andy Kankam, Editor-In-Chief of The Informer newspaper, whose credible publications have been a severe pain in the neck of the NPP and its struggling flagbearer since the paper persistently exposes the ills of the man who has vowed to become president of Ghana “at all cost.”

A whimsical publication, emanating from a so-called Oduman Residents Association at Ablekuma in Accra, appeared on the internet last Thursday, purporting that Mr. Andy Kankam has involved himself in a crime of rape. According to the publication, a 16-year old girl had reported the Informer Editor to the police for rape.

Sadly enough, Mr Ken Kuranchie, the Managing Editor of the Searchlight Newspaper who has rendered himself a cheap campaign dog of the desperate NPP and will do anything for the party and its drug-tainted flagbearer for a morsel of bread, availed himself as usual for the dirty game as he published the total rubbish in his newspaper on Monday.

The Catalyst can state authoritatively that the bogus publication fell flat when the paper checked with the police to ascertain the veracity of the claim, as there was not an iota of truth in it. No such incident has ever taken place, no such crime had been committed by Andy and no report has been made to the police by NPP’s fathom 16-year old girl who, in their wildest imagination, they claimed was raped.

A check at Ablekuma by the paper also reveals no such association exists. A list of names provided as members is also fake. When The Catalyst called a cell phone number, 0266577800, provided as the contact of the so-called Oduman Association, the call was received by an innocent woman, who said she was in her farm somewhere in the Brong-Ahafo region and not resident at Ablekuma or anywhere else in Accra. She denied total knowledge of the subject.

It is also striking that these purveyors of false claims in their haste to lie, chose to say a 16-year old girl was raped instead of the right terminology of defilement.

Checks by The Catalyst within the NPP however revealed that the totally false publication was thoughtlessly done by some faceless campaign dogs of the beleaguered NPP flagbearer. The act, according to the paper’s reliable source, is yet another of a series of false allegations targeted at media men regarded by the NPP as pro-NDC/government and communicators of the government.

It would be recalled that in the first quarter of this year, a flawed publication, which appeared first on peacefmonline.com claimed that the Mills government was spending a whopping $200,000 monthly on selected journalists and media houses together with some individuals who speak on behalf of the Mills government. The publication claimed between $12,000 and 20,000 go to these media houses and individuals monthly in addition to a number of vehicles and free fuel.

The media houses mentioned in the false publication were The Catalyst, The Informer, Daily Post, Ghanaian Lens, Dispatch, The Insight and The Enquirer.

Also mentioned were individuals such as Mr. Allotey Jacobs, Mr. Raymond Acher, Mr. Mike Dokosi, Mr. Kobby Fiagbe, Mr Kojo Twum Boafo, Mr Kwesi Pratt, Dr. Tony Aidoo, Mr James Agyenim Boateng, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and Mr Stan Dogbe.

All these individuals were, in the figment of the imagination of the NPP accusers, supposedly pocketing between $15,000 and $20,000 on a monthly basis aside from other largesse such as expensive vehicles and free fuel coupons at the expense of the state.

Not too long after, Kobby Fiagbe was said to be HIV positive in another of these publications posted on the internet. The Ghanaian Lens Editor challenged Nana Akufo-Addo to a blood test of his HIV status and that of the NPP flagbearer on his drug status. Ghanaians are yet to hear from the NPP flagbearer.

Another notable publication that appeared on the internet recently had to do with a spurious claim that the Mills government had purchased $110,000 state of the art houses for Mike Dokosi, Editor of Daily Post, Kobby Fiagbe, Editor of Ghanaian Lens and Andy Kankam, Editor-In-Chief of The Informer.

Reliable information stumbled upon by this paper indicates the NPP campaign dogs have a hit-list and are gearing up for more action as their plan is to throw as much mud their target persons as possible. The Ghanaian public better get ready for the ‘all die be die’ crusaders.

Please read the full detail of the foolish ‘Andy 16-year old girl rape’ story, Tilled Editor Must Go To Prison –Residents, below unedited:

We, the residents of the new Oduman Residents Association at Ablekuma in Accra are calling for the Inspector General of Police Mr Paul Tawiah Quaye not to obstruct the course of justice in a rape case involving Mr Andy Kankam, a member of the Natonal Democratic Congress and a newspaper editor of one of Ghana’s vibrant private newspapers, the Informer, and Sefakor Ayiku a 16 year old young girl who has accused Mr Kankam of rape, molestation and threats on her life.

Miss Sefakor Ayiku has accused Mr Kankam of raping and molesting her near a guest house near the goil filling station at Anyaa and driving off after leaving 150 Ghana cedis for her to get a taxi home. The case is currently at Tesano Police station.

We have been forced to write in the public domain due to the strange actions of the IGP and other police officers at the Tesano police station which has given room to mistrust and suspicion that they are assisting Mr Kankam to go free.

The Oduman residents association are calling on the Inspector General of Police and his officers to rather arrest Mr Andy Kankam and find it unbelievable that he is walking free without a care in the world while the family of this defiled girl suffer in disgrace and silence.

The residents association believe that the welfare and rights of Sefakor Ayiku, whose life has been destroyed by Mr Kankam, Mr Lumor Ayiku and Madam Janet Afari as citizens of Ghana are important. When will the police do the right thing and investigate crimes and prosecute criminals pretending to be gentlemen?

On behalf of the family we make further pleas to all Ghanaians to help us get justice for this family and especially young Sefakor Ayiku whose purity and virginity has been destroyed by Mr Kankam. The law must be no respector of persons especially for lawless individuals like Andy Kankam who think that by virtue of their positions they are above the law.

We are watching and praying

Mr Lumor Ayiku, Madam Janet Afari, Koney Kpabitey, Nii Ossa Richardson, Abena Adutuwmwaa, Francis Koomson, Kwasi Penfold, Wekem Adamu, Edem Ashiagbor, Thomas Gyan aka Big Man no worry, Dr Steven Asante Wireko, Alhaji Samiu Osaman, Samuel Atta Dumfeh-Secretary, New Oduman Residents Association, Ablekuma-0266577800.
