Police CID honours TV3 journalist Peter Adattor
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has recognized the professional and selfless dedication of Media General Group’s multiple award-winning broadcast journalist Peter Quao Adattor in crime reporting and has honoured him.
Mr. Adattor was awarded among five other journalists at a short ceremony Friday, April 13, at the CID headquarters in Accra.
“This is in recognition of your selfless and dedication to the works of the Criminal Investigative Department,” a plaque congratulating him read.
Having reported on crime and activities of the Ghana Police Service for over a decade, this is the second time, the Service has adorned him with accolades for his diligence, with the first in 2015.
Last year, Mr. Adattor was among four Media General journalists who stood out at the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards. Peter was adjudged the Best Journalist in Education Reporting in the television category, and the overall Best Journalist in the electronic category.
His awards were the result of two solid stories – one about a blind and deaf student who defied all odds to get education, and the other about smuggled expired sardines into the country.
But for his exposé, the expired sardines, which were in a rotten stage, would have ended up on the various markets within the country.
The multi-faceted and versatile journalist, who has special interests in crime reporting, rural reporting, sports and investigative reporting, has a lot of awards to his credit, including special recognitions from African Golden Glove and Hallmark awards.
Among the many projects that Mr. Adattor is currently working on is his campaign to demand justice for some two workers of a factory who have been left to their fate after they were involved in an accident and maimed.

His jovial personality attracts almost everyone and most of them sit at his feet to learn from his many years of experience on the job.
It’s, however, surprising that having been in the media for so long, Mr. Adattor still shies away from the limelight and would rather opt to keep a low profile.
But no, the millennials would not let him be, as they constantly keep pushing him into the digital space.
