The Greater-Accra Regional Police Command has inspected an affordable housing project, being undertaken by the ASN Holdings Limited at Katamanso in the Greater-Accra Region.

The Police delegation led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno, Greater-Accra Regional Police Commander, inspected the on-going 5,000 affordable housing project, to discuss with the owners how personnel of the service could benefit from such private mortgage plan.

He expressed joy over the work being done by the ASN Holdings Limited, saying it would immensely help the public sector workers to acquire their own houses without encountering any problem of land litigation.

He said the situation where some Police personnel faced difficulties over housing, especially when they were going on retirement, was very worrying, and it was imperative that they went for such mortgage plans being offered by the ASN Holdings.

“We will sensitize our people to go for such mortgage plans, in order to acquire their own properties, but not to wait till they went on retirement, and then encountered problems with accommodation,” he said.

DCOP Yohuno said the Police Administration would introduce the mortgage plan to its welfare scheme as a way of encouraging many personnel of the service to own houses before going on retirement.

Mr Prince Yaw Sarpong, Chief Executive Officer of ASN Holdings Limited, said 400 of the affordable housing units were currently available.

He said per the mortgage plan, one is required to make a zero deposit to live in the house while using 15-30 years to pay.

He, therefore, urged members of the public, especially public sector workers, to take advantage of the mortgage plan being offered and acquire their houses without any hassle.
