Police Hunt Kan Dapaah Attackers

The Greater Accra Regional Command has launched a search for three persons suspected to be part of a gang that attacked and robbed Kan Dapaah, Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament.

The suspects are Emmanuel Tetteh 23, Ato-quaye and Aaron. The three persons, according to ASP Justice Nana Oppong of the regional CID operations, were among a gang of six persons that attacked the Member of Parliament (MP) for Afiagya Sekyere West in Ashanti Region and robbed him of $1000, Ghc500 and other valuables including a laptop.

However, three persons, Gabriel Donkor, a mobile phone seller, Gator Joseph, an aluminum fabricator and Kofi Rabbi, mobile phone/ laptop seller were arrested and arraigned before court.

The runaway suspects, according to ASP Oppong, are believed to be hiding at Ablekuam, Gbawe and Kaneshie.

“Anybody with information should contact the police,” he added.

It would be recalled that on September 25, 2012 at about 11:41 pm the young men armed with guns attacked the complainant, Mr Kan Dapaah and his watchman at gunpoint after he arrived home in his Toyota Land Cruiser Prado vehicle with registration number GW 2726-12.

The suspects shot tyres of the vehicle before they searched the chairman and his watchman.

They proceeded to his room upstairs where they took $1000, GHC500, a mini HP laptop computer, Samsung Galaxy Mobile Phone, a pistol with 25 rounds of ammunition and some jewelries. The suspects afterwards fled the scene so a report was made to the police, which led to their arrest.

On October 12, 2012, police intelligent led to the arrest of Gator Joseph, who denied involvement but mentioned Tetteh Attoquaye and Aaron, at large as the culprits.

Joseph took the police to the house of Donkor, a sponsor who received the booty. Suspect Donkor admitted receiving the laptop but stated that he also sold it to an unidentified person.
