The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of a woman captured in a viral video physically assaulting a man, an incident that sparked widespread public outrage earlier in the week.
According to a statement, the arrest was carried out on Thursday, November 27, 2025, by the IGP’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.
The suspect, identified as Esther Nana Afia Sarfowaa, was picked up at Subriso in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
A second suspect, Stephen Ofori, was also arrested at Nkawie in the Ashanti Region for his alleged involvement in the assault.
Police say both individuals are currently in custody, assisting with investigations.
Authorities further revealed that three other suspects linked to the incident are on the run, and efforts are underway to apprehend them.

The Ghana Police Service assured the public of its commitment to ensuring justice is served, emphasising that perpetrators of such acts will be held accountable.
“The Ghana Police Service assures the public of our commitment to bring perpetrators to justice,” the statement read.
The viral video, which circulated widely on social media, showed a young man being attacked by a woman in the presence of several others.
