Police have assured the public that there is an elaborate plan to keep the peace in the country after the Supreme Court (SC) ruling which is likely to be given in August.

According to Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Cephas Arthur, the Police have been following a strategy to ensure security of the state since the beginning of the case.

He said the Police intelligence gathering has entered a new phase as the country waits for the ruling by the panel of 9 Judges led by Justice William Atuguba.

"I can assure the people of Ghana that we are prepared in all respects by way of collecting intelligence...managing mob action, crowd control, and other aspects of security which the Police Service can envisage," he said.

After several weeks of cross-examinations by the parties involved in the petition challenging the legitimacy of President John Mahama in the 2012 election, the Supreme Court adjourned the case to July 31.
