The suspect was arrested following a thorough police investigation, after intelligence gathered from informants revealed his suspicious activities.

Addressing the media on September 25, 2025, the Public Relations Officer of the Greater Accra Regional Police Command, Superintendent Juliana Obeng, stated that the suspect was arrested after the police received a tip-off from their informants.

She indicated that they monitored the suspect’s activities for a month before moving in to arrest him.

“For the past two months and counting, he [suspect] wears the military uniform and parades himself as a soldier to extort traders in the area. He was terrorising people who work around the area [Abossey Okai].

“After a tip-off, we began monitoring him over a period of time. Our findings confirmed that the information we received from our informant was accurate, and so we went to the area where he operates and arrested him,” she said.
