Gizelle YAJZI

Sun, 14 Aug 2005 Source: GNA

Accra, Aug. 14, GNA - It has come to the notice of the police that, certain groups of people describing themselves as supporters or opponents of Gizelle Yagzi have been making pronouncements which tend to create unnecessary furore about the reported visit of Gizelle Yagzi to Ghana.

The Police note with regret the undue tension being created by the two organisations who call themselves "Friends of the truth" and "Enemies of lies" over the visit.

Although it is the duty of the police to give protection to everybody including supporters of the two groups, the Police will not allow anybody to disturb the public order or the peace of innocent citizens.

The Police cautioned supporters of the two groups and the organisers of the Gizelle Yagzi programme to exercise the utmost restraint in their utterances, movements and actions. The Police will therefore not hesitate to apply the law in the event of any break of the peace.
