Tema, May 02, GNA - Chief Superintendent of Police Joshua Dogbedah, Tema Regional Crime Officer has commended residents of Kadzanya a village in the Ada District for apprehending three suspected armed robbers. The suspects Charles Adzokatse, the leader, Samuel Adzokatse and Johnson Degbe Dadedzi allegedly robbed Madam Florence Adzokatse a trader and chop bar owner of more than 50 million cedis at dawn on Wednesday April 25.

He said the suspects who were relatives of the victim had prior knowledge of the money and attacked her and fired gun shots when she was asleep.

Police Chief Superintendent Dogbedah said the victim's husband who was sleeping next door heard the gun shots and went to her rescue but the suspects fled after taking the money and fired at her husband who tried to pursue them.

He said the residents who became alarmed mobilized themselves and apprehended the suspects but nothing was retrieved from them. Police Chief Superintendent Dogbedah urged rural dwellers to emulate the selflessness of the residents and asked them to be circumspect because the armed robbers had extended their activities to those areas. 02 May 07
