Police at Nalerigu in the Northern region are investigating Headmaster of the Nalerigu Senior High School (SHS) over report of a missing first year student.

He reportedly packed out from the school before authorities could handover the dismissal note and disappeared without trace.

Sambo Jacob Disalipo, 22, a General Art student went missing in September after the school disciplinary committee recommended his dismissal after he was found culpable of stealing a teacher’s mobile phone and a student calculator.

Sambo Jacob according to reports gained admission into the school in 2015 to offer General Arts.

Father of the boy Laar-john sakabnab, a resident of Gbankuni in the Bunkprugu district in an interview with Ultimate News said his son in September this year rang him on phone and said he had been withdrawn from the school upon allegations of theft and that he needed money to travel back home.

Mr. Laar said he directed his son to a relative for the money and has since not been seen or heard of.

He said he went to the school a month after his son failed to return home only to be told by authorities that his son had escaped.

The father is blaming authorities of the school for failing to protect their ward and has since reported the matter to the police.

“We had a message that our ward had stolen a smart phone and he is to be given a suspension so we were thinking that the staff would call because if you have your ward in the school and there is a problem with the ward they will call so that we sit together and see what would happen only to be told on the 24th that he has taken his things away”

Ultimate News gathered that an earlier search party comprising roommates and relatives of the missing student failed to find him.

His roommates were unable to confirm when he was last seen so there is no clue to locate him, however, there are reports of sad and worried teenagers committing suicide in the area.

Police in the area have confirmed probing the matter.

The East Mamprusi District Police Commander ASP Opoku Agyemang Prempeh told Ultimate News the headmaster and some staff of the school were invited and their statements taken.
