The police at Ejisu in the Ashanti region have come under severe criticisms from the public for disallowing a final Junior High School student in the area to write his examination mock.

Police in the district allegedly arrested the Junior High School (JHS) student and put him behind bars for some days under the instructions of an assembly member because he refused to partake in communal labour.

The juvenile who was due to write his mock examination within the period he remained behind bars has not been given another opportunity by school authorities to write the exam

It was gathered that upon a report to the Ejisu Police Command in the Ashanti Region by the assembly, the juvenile was arrested without official charge pressed against him.

According to relatives of the student, several attempts to get him bail hit a snag as police say the assembly man was not around hence, they cannot grant him bail.

Ejisu District Commander has declined to comment on this development except to say that he is unaware of the incident promising to investigate it.

Meanwhile, a private legal practitioner and human rights activist, Maurice Ampaw is threatening to persue the matter at human rights courts to seek justice for the victim.
