Tema, Dec. 13, GNA - The Tema Police said on Monday that its investigations into the 73 million cedis Tema Bank robbery is yielding positive results but declined to give any further details.

Mr Joe Danquah, Tema Regional Police Commander, who earlier told journalists that the robbery could be an ''insider job'' would also not say whether any link has been established with some of the bank staff.

Last Friday, Six armed robbers using a Toyota Land Cruiser, seized from a Customs Officer, attacked a bullion van as it was in the process delivering money at the Mankoadze Roundabout Branch of the Agricultural Development Bank at Tema and made away with a metal box containing the amount.

Mr Danquah said Police later found the vehicle abandoned at Ashalley Botwe, near Madina with one live ammunition in it. He said Police forensic experts are currently conducting fingerprint tests after, which the vehicle would be released to Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS).

Several hands including those of some Customs officers had touched the vehicle when it was found but the Police said they hope that would not impede investigations. The vehicle was seized from Mr Sam Aguddey, an Assistant Commissioner of CEPS at the Kotoka International Airport at gunpoint last Friday before it was used for the operation. GNA
