Police sergeants start capacity building course

Winneba(C/R), March 22, GNA - The second batch of

165 police sergeants due for promotion to Inspectors have

started a two-week course at the Central Regional Police

Training School in Winneba. It forms part of series of courses being undertaken by

the Police Administration to equip the police to perform

well. In a message read on behalf of the Inspector General of

Police by Assistant Commissioner of Police Nathaniel Kofi

Boakye at the opening ceremony on Monday at Winneba,

he said, it is the policy of the Police Administration that

nobody is promoted without the adequate training and

competence. He said as a result the Police Administration is

committed to building the capacity of all personnel within its

five-year strategic plan. Mr Boakye said the training and retraining of personnel

is to make them function effectively within the context of the

police objectives. The Officer Commanding of the Training School,

Deputy Superintendent of Police Samuel Aseidu Okanta

advised participants to concentrate on their training since it

is the cornerstone of their success. 22 March 11
