Accra, Sept 6, GNA - An identification parade for 28 suspected armed robbers would be held at the Criminal and Investigation Division (CID) Headquarters, Accra on Thursday September 8, this year.

A statement signed by DSP David Eklu, Director, Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, said the parade followed the arrest of the 28 suspects after a special operation mounted by the CID Headquarters last Monday.

It said "all those who have been victims or have information that would help the police should contact the officer in-charge of the Anti-Robbery unit at the CID Headquarters or the Police Public Affairs Directorate from tomorrow Wednesday September 7, to Thursday September 8 before the parade at 1400."

The statement said the identification parade was however not opened to the public or the media.

The statement asked all those with information to contact the officer in-charge of the Unit before the time for the parade. It asked the public to join hands with the police "in the fight against armed robbery and all other criminal activities." 06 Sept.05
