Nkoranza (B/A), March 5, GNA - Police Superintendent Benjamin Wiafe-Kwabeng, officer in-charge of the Nkoranza Police Station has cautioned that the police would deal severely with perpetrators of political violence as a way to deter like-minded people.

He was addressing a meeting of the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Convention People's Party (CPP) and the other active political parties in the constituency.

The main agenda of the meeting was "Ensuring a Peaceful Electioneering Campaign and General Election in the Communities". Supt. Wiafe-Kwabeng said the exercise was crucial in the country's history and called on the people to guard against their involvement in negative practices.

He reminded the party leaders of the Public Order Act of 1994, which challenged all political party leaders to notify the police five days prior to any political campaign for the necessary security. More CK/EA/GA
