Politicians must hear and obey the voice of God – Pentecost Apostle

The Kaneshie Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Achim Gyimah has advised politicians and the entire citizenry of this country to heed to God’s voice in this election year to avert calamities.

He noted that many Ghanaians are always nervous of what may occur during and after elections in the country, more so, the Church of Pentecost’s theme for the year; Hearing and Obeying the voice of God in our generation; should be a pertinent call for all Ghanaians.

Apostle Achim Gyimah was speaking to members of the church at Adwen-Bu District when he inspected some ongoing church projects.

“It is my prayer that we will have [the] government in power and the opposition party listening and obey the voice of God. If Ghanaians will hear the voice of God in this election year concerning the leadership of the country, then peace will prevail, Proverbs 1:33,” he stated.

According to him, hearing and obeying the voice of God should influence every Ghanaian to elect good and responsible leaders for the country to relieve citizens from the economic hardships.

He spoke on the theme; Hearing and Obeying the voice of God, the principal factor to be successful and fruitful stewards, (1 Samuel 3:1-33) citing the case of Samuel’s exemplary life when he mentored Eli his spiritual father and obeyed the voice of God.

The Apostle stated that Ghana as a nation is spiritually inclined but lacks leaders who can change the misfortunes of the country but rather subject to corruptible attitudes.

Adding that corruption is now a household name, it is being practised in the church, as it has been made to look attractive by leaders both in the church and outside.

He assured Ghanaians that in this era where the country has lost its glory, God will restructure it to be seen in the forefront of quality Christianity in the world.

Pastor Elijah Mahama Akpanyi, District Pastor, also noted that leadership of this country and the church should be held accountable for their deeds to serve as a deterrent to others.

The inspection of the uncompleted church building led by the Area Head included Presiding Elders Nicholas Tettey, Isaac Ghartey and some members of the Estate Committee.

He charged Christian leaders to emulate the commendable characters of leaders in the Old Testament, citing that Abraham became the father of all nations because of his personal relationship with God.
