Politicians should avoid politics of insults and lies – Ampofo

Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development at the weekend urged politicians to desist from politics of insults and lies.

He asked them to engage in issues that would help transform the lives of the majority of Ghanaians.

Mr Ampofo who made the call at a rally organised by members and supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Adjei Kojo near Ashaiman, asked politicians not to vilify their opponents.

The Minister who is the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Tema West, urged members and supporters of the party to take the forthcoming biometric registration exercise seriously, reminding them that is the only and surest way through which they could exercise their franchise legitimately and retain NDC in power.

Mr Ampofo assured the electorate that he would sacrifice for the development of the constituency when voted for as the Member of Parliament, adding: “I will bring visionary leadership to Tema.”

He presented two motor bikes to the party and urged members to use the means of transport to intensify their campaign in order to increase the party’s membership towards the December polls.

In response to a request from the community about frequent attacks by thugs during the night, Mr Ampofo donated 50 street lights to the people of Adjei Kojoorder through their assemblyman, Mr Romeo Akahoho.
