Renowned football administrator, Takyi Arhin, popularly known in football circles as ‘Thunder’ has asked politicians in Ghana to stay away from the game because they do not have the technical know-how to run it.

His comments come after the abysmal performance of the Black Stars in the ongoing African Cup of Nations. The team was eliminated in the round of 16 by Tunisia.

Thunder believes that the Black Stars were faring better when officials he described as ‘Football People’ were managing affairs.

Speaking on the Kumasi Based Nhyira FM, Takyi Arhin asked them to concentrate on running the day to day affairs of the country and leave the governing of football in the country for them to do a better job.

“Let the dead bury their own dead. The politicians should leave our football for us so they can focus on governing the country. They taught it was an easy job. They have now seen their level because they started on a wrong footing by ending appointing the CEO of GNPC to head the Black Stars Management Committee.”

“Because they know nothing, they took close to 20 people to Egypt while it was supposed to be three people. Now that we are back from the tournament, I expect Ghanaians to rise up like they did for the ‘Drop That Chamber’” he said.

He also called for the immediate resignations of the Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah, Chairman of the Normalisation Committee Dr. Kofi Amoah and the entire officials who led the team for the AFCON.

“We should go the Egyptian way, the Sports Minister, Kofi Amoah and all their people should all pack and leave the scene.”
