Contentious Ghanaian Hip-life artiste, Kwame Asare Obeng known in the showbiz circles as A-Plus has stated that it is wrong for the public to perceive that, the political circle is a no-go area for people in the creative sector.
Speaking on First News Network’s (FNN) morning show, The First Show, the controversial musician fumed about the public’s perception on entertainers who engage in politics.
“Nobody talks about the lawyer and politics; nobody talks about the doctor and politics. The constitution of the republic of Ghana allows the right to association so long as it’s not against the laws of the country’. You don’t need to think of the word politics before you think of asking people how they handle your money (tax payer’s money)”, A Plus stated.
A-Plus further stated that, people should be given the right to express themselves when it comes to issues confronting the nation especially when the issue of tax payer’s money sets in.
The “Aben Be Bom” hit-maker affirmed that one doesn’t need to be a political activist to check on the activities of politicians.
“I don’t think you should be a political activist to check on what politicians do. When you sleep, wake up and you buy water, there is this vat component on it and so it’s very important.
